Hi, my name is Elise123! grandson is 15 years old and was diagnosed with ADHD, struggles with school

Hi can any advise me please, my grandson is 15 years old and was diagnosed with ADHD 5 years ago. He struggles on a daily basis with school , as he talks a lot. He has a high hyperactivity and low concentration, anger issues etc. He was receiving DLA for a few years and now out of nowhere, they have stopped it over a year an half ago. I sent lots of documents from CAMHS, school etc, when they stopped it and have not heard a thing back since then. I have rang numerous times and they say there is a back log. I am furious as he clearly struggles on a daily basis with his ADHD and he cant take the medication for this as the side affects were terrible for him. He developed Alopecia areta , couldnt eat, was really depressed and lethargic. How can this system put people through this. I will take this as far as i can so they reinstate his money. But i can see them paying back money . Has anyone else gone through this or going through it now. Thanks

Hi @Elise123 and a warm welcome to the community!
It may be worth following up with the DWP in writing to create a clear record of your case and to create a paper trail.
As its been over a year and a half with no update, you can also contact your MP and ask them to intervene on your behalf as they can sometimes get quicker responses from DWP!
It also may be worth speaking to Welfare Adviser at Citizens Advice about what has happened0
