Kendall assured existing PIP recipients they would remain protected. She wrote: "We recognise the proposed changes have been a source of uncertainty and anxiety. Therefore, we will ensure that all of those currently receiving PIP will stay within the current system. The new eligibility requirements will be implemented from November 2026 for new claims only."

So how do you take this is it new claims as in never claimed before or existing claims being reviewed?

After 14 years of the last government, I'm always hesitant in what I believe, I think many are now. And I'll try not to assume either.

From what's said, the new criteria will be for new claimants only, so as we'd be having reviews, I'd be hoping we'd not be classed as new claimants. But until we see something concrete in writing, none of us really know how this will pan out.

I'm sorry. Just to be clear, from what has been said so far, do you mean the changes from the Timms ministerial review will only affect new claimants and not those on PIP who are coming for reassessment? I come up for reassessment about midway through 2027. So if I was reassessed on the current system, that would be reassuring for me. If that can be believed.

I'm afraid I cannot say @axab43 as there's been no definitions given. But I'm hoping they will not class reassessments as new claimants.

when I explained what life is like now he saw why the decline,

because the Doctors when I was a child turning to teenager got it so badly wrong.

The condition is very much like Lupus, But the added element white people normally dont get this condition so the immune system is just attacking all the organs, the bones even the blood vessels, Its now in the eyes, Spinal cord and Brain.

These ministers sitting there all claiming expenses.

As a long term Labour Voter i will NEVER trust them again but more worrying the society I am with only has about 100 people but everyone said the same they will never vote labour again. This is directly from the MP's PA they are under the impression in 4 years time

when faced between Reform or Labour people will vote for them, No when Trust is shattered its very hard. Disabled people will always be seen as the easy targets.

OAP's and the Triple lock are seen as no go area until they feel the same about disabled people another government is elected and this nightmare begins again.

I'm so so sorry to hear that @Vulcress not being able to do what you enjoyed is always going to have a huge impact on your life. But I hope the community can at least bring you a bit of joy when you're here. I wont say "We're all in the same boat" but we are all sea vessels anchoring in the same port at least.
