info about what will be available 18 year old in terms of housing/care/work?

I have joined for my 18 year old daughter. I am her full time carer but eventually she wants to be living independently of me. She is a full time powerchair user. We find it very hard to find out any information about what will be available for her in the future in terms of housing/care/access to work etc and would welcome hearing from anyone who is out there living this

Has she had an adult social care assessment yet? If not, then it's worth contacting your local authority for one as they should be able to offer further support into care and housing needs etc.

There are various routes she can go down for housing depending on her needs such as supported living and accessible council homes as well as applying for a disabled facilities grant if her home needs adaptations. Here is some more information on housing options for disabled people and applying for accessible council and housing association homes that may be helpful.

Here is some information on finding a job when you are disabled. Has your daughter said what sort of job she would like to apply for?

There is Access to Work which is a scheme to help disabled get the support they need in order to get into and stay in work. Scope have also got various employment support services that your daughter may be interested too😊
