I have a sneaking suspicion that I may be entering dad bod phase! Does anybody know of any simple but effective abdominal exercises?

Well done for wanting to do something about the dad bod!

Kris from wheelygoodfittness is the person you need to talk to, what he has achieved is truly inspirational. He has some great exercises for wheelchair users and a new DVD that is just out, that I understand is very good.

I so hope that I get to meet Kris one day soon, as i'm so impressed with how he is making exercises classes inclusive and helping disabled people change and reach their potential.

Exercise classes for wheel chair users I believe should be adopted across the whole country, no mater where a persons current level is or disability, engaging in exercise only brings about positive change.

Please let me know how you get on, all the very best.

Well done for wanting to get in shape!!
Fitness for people with cp is hugely important.... I go to the gym twice a week to keep myself active and compliment my physio routine. I'm a firm believer in a holistic approach to managing cp, basically bits of physio, getting the right support from orthotics (a fine line between support and function!) and any form of physical exercise that you can do, and I would say makes you happy..... Exercise shouldn't be a chore!! I've done lots of different forms of exercise throughout my life (I've always been very active!) from horse riding to cycling and swimming, all things that compliment physio, but don't feel like physio!!
A good easy abs exercise that I have found, is to lie on your back with your legs bent and use your stomach muscles to pull your legs up towards your chest, while keeping your shoulders on the floor/bed. I've found it also helps loosen your back up too....
I've had a look at wheely good fitness and think it's fantastic!! There is a huge need for people to help those with disabilities access fitness, whether it be gym based, cycling or even in the home.... I'm planning on training to become a personal trainer and specialising in working with people with disabilities... I feel I can really draw on my own personal experiences to guide people through exercise, and make exercise accessible.
