My 14 year old daughter has cerebral palsy. My wife and I would like to share views with other parents on this condition; especially at this crucial time in her life. She has mobility and speech problems but is otherwise a well-rounded young girl. However, we have noticed that her peers are developing socially at a faster rate and she is beginning to get left behind by her cohort. Any similar experiences and coping strategies would be welcome.

Hi Andrew
I have cerebral palsy and attended mainstream school where all of my cohort were able bodied. It is true to say that on occasion I did feel that I was missing out in some aspects of social interaction. My parents used to set up sleep overs at our house so I could interact in my own environment and help plan cinema visits etc. This really helped to forge the strong friendships I still have today.Scope
