My daughter suffers from a painful spastic bladder which when full causes her pain and discomfort until she empties the bladder . We are looking into either a mitrofanoff or BOTOX but I am just after any information that we can get that helps me making a decision in the future. My disabled daughter is 10 and I am also wondering if this is something she may grow out of . She suffers from a brain condition and also bilateral spastic cerebral palsy . Any advice would be greatfully received

@dylski I also have bladder issues. I get painful cramps when I need the toilet. My bladder will not always fill completely because of this, and when it is full it spasms. Thus causing accidents. I have been on oxybutnib I. The past and found this helpful for a while, but am now on solifinacin which is a more modern drug and I have found this extremely helpful, esp. with the bladder spasms.1

Hi @dylski
We have some information about botox as a treatment here. Are you discussing this with your GP or specialist?0 -
Hi @dylski, I have mild CP and have had issues with this in the past. I take Baclofen to reduce spasms in general and this too helped with my bladder. However, I would take this up with your GP or a specialist

Hello, for the past 6-7 years I thought I was having chronic UTIs. I had a procedure done last year and the results showed bladder spasms. Which I agreed because many people would describe UTI’s as a burning while peeing. I never had that what I was experiencing was almost contraction-like symptoms after I peed. Almost like my bladder was trying to push out a stone or something ( best way to describe it) I have missed a lot of work and I need any and all tips to help calm a bladder spasm. I use heating pads which help. I believe my bladder spasm are occurring because I hold stress in my bladder. I have done all the food/beverage testing and nothing food or beverage wise pointed to be the issue but I noticed when I had an exam or training at work is when I would get a spasm. Thank you for your time.0
