Custom Wheelchair

I recently received a new manual custom wheelchair through my insurance company. The problem is that the new wheelchair is too wide, too long, and otherwise to big for me. It is causing me a lot of arm pain and is difficult for me to move. My old chair fits me much better, but it is quite worn and I don't know if it will make it another five years (till insurance might cover a new chair for me). I don't know what to do. Any advice?

Hi @Kai
I would urge you to try to get this resolved as soon as possible. Using a wheelchair that isn't the correct fit for you could be very detrimental to your health and well-being.
Hopefully the insurance company will work with you to remedy the situation but if not you would be wise to seek to get a more appropriate wheelchair from another source: NHS/private purchase/charity assistance.
Best wishes
