A review of my PIP claim

Hi everyone

I’ve followed this site for a while although not posted.

I have recently applied for PIP for the first time and would like to share my experience so far.

I applied in July 2021 - I submitted my PIP form however forgot to send on evidence however I listed my specialists and GP and their contacts.

Approx 1 week ago I got a random call out the blue from PIP just to confirm what I’d put on my PIP form.

I put down I needed aids for preparing a meal, washing, toileting, dressing and I am able to walk 50-200m.

following the 15 minute call I requested the PA3 (as this turned out to be a paper based assessment) .. I requested this the next day - this come yesterday.

The assessor has advised aids for cooking,  assistance for washing and dressing and aids for toileting - and also chose I can walk 20-50m reliably.

On the call I was genuine and I told her I can do things - I don’t get help I do it myself just with extra time and gadgets.

However she obviously felt I needed more - so I got standard rate care and standard mobility :)

It isn’t confirmed as I haven’t had the decision letter - but the AP report looks promising.

Hope this reassures and helps others from a first time applier.
