Hi to everyone
I’m disabled with chronic arthritis in most of my joints
I knit to keep my hands as mobile as I can, but some days even that is very painful
i like to do crossword puzzles on line, to keep my brain as active as I can
I had relatives who had dementia so I’m aware that the brain needs exercise too
stay safe out there
take care

i do all sorts of knitting
just now I’ve knitted a selection for a lady who had a baby November
I’ll try and post them to show you

What do you think of them
-
Those are lovely @susanannr52 You're really talented! Perhaps you'd like to share some of your projects on our KaleidoScope thread, too? It's where our members post anything arts and craftsy that they'd like to share.
Do you do cryptic crosswords, or are you more into the general knowledge type ones?
-
@Susanannr52 wow your really talented, those look lovely. Love the colours too.
-
Thank you, I do enjoy knitting, what have you been up knitting
-
I have psoriatic arthritis in my hands and feet
sometimes my fingers ‘lock’
my dr told me years ago to keep knitting to exercise my hands to keep my hands mobile
i must say there is only a few days that I don’t knit.I’m sorry to hear you that you don’t knit anymore
have you thought about crochet or is that too much for you too -
Bowling eh? Very good for keeping your other joints working
as I have arthritis in nearly all of my joints I find any outside activity a pain, I would love to learn to swim but I’m afraid of the water on my face, stems back to an incident at a school ‘swimming’ lesson which left me nearly drowned. I have tried with a float but I’m so terrified of going under the water, it put me off, it is on my ‘bucket’ list
i learnt to crochet by a tutorial in the Prima magazine then went onto looking on YouTube
so far I’ve crochet for others, a unicorn a dragon and a reversible axolotl
I would rather knit, I’ve had some of my knitted garments go to America and France
I’ve done knitting for Robin wools and for various shops
i like aran knitting the most -

I really do love your work, a lady in our community where I live knits, then what she gets for her work she donates to various charity's at the end of the year. I had a few baby cardigans off her.
-
I knit for the prem units in hospitals these are what I sent them last year cardies with hats to match
-
Hello @Susanannr52 these are some fabulous knits! I don't knit myself, but I think knitting is a great hobby, it's a skillful craft, and you can make gifts that can really be treasured, like these. Do you find it quite therapeutic?

Yes i find it wiles away the hoursif I don’t knit I feel quite down in the dumps
I get asked to knit for other people the arran cardigan with round buttons went to France to a friends daughter
the other arran was for a friend as a car coat for the summer
The child’s cardigan was for a friends great granddaughter, the teddies are put on with press studs so she can play with them as the arms and legs move
she loved it -
