I don't know if any of you saw the lead article on the BBC1 6pm news this evening? Basically the story was that disabled children and young people had been moved by their carers to safer areas (thats good I hear you say), problem was it wasn't good, once there these so called "carers" abandoned them, and ran away. They tied many of them to a bed, these children and young people have a range of disabilities.
I have no words to describe these "carers".
This new report was 50 minutes ago and to be honest I've been in tears ever since, I honestly thought that the human race was better than this, that collectively we had compassion for those less able than ourselves. Turns out I was wrong all along and that too many people are cowards with no compassion and no moral compass.
I am not religious but the words "suffer the little children to come on to me" come to mind xxx

I'm sorry to hear about this news, and that it's distressed you @woodbine
I believe it's happening in Ukraine, just to clarify, so the carers were fleeing the war, but it's unimaginable to even begin thinking about the children left behind.
I know it leaves us feeling guilty that we can simply switch off the TV or turn off the computer, but sometimes it is what we must do for the sake of our own mental health.
If anyone is looking for a way to practically support those impacted, there are many charities raising funds to help with access to emergency food and supplies, for families with disabled children, who cannot leave their homes.Online Community Coordinator
