My son who is 19 gets PIP both elements
He attends a day centre twice a week contracted through adult social services
I have asked if they can give him transport to and from this service every week.
Social services have asked me what us his PIP mobility element spent on as he should use that to pay for transport.
Is this right that they ask what his PIP is spent on?

You can spend PIP however you wish. I can certainly tell you that the amount of my own mobility doesn’t come close to the amount I spend on transport costs every week.

Are social services obliged to provide transport to and from the service they provide?

Although he can use his PIP on anything he wants to but that wasn’t the reason why they are asking. Yes, they are within their rights to ask what the PIP part is used for if you’re asking for funding for travel costs.Does he have a bus pass?I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
