PIP Review - Good News

Hi guys,
You may remember that I posted some time back about my PIP review. I received the forms in January and immediately panicked as the bad memories of my DLA to PIP transition at the start of 2018 came flooding back.

I'm pleased to be able to report that I had my phone assessment a month ago and I have managed to retain my award, scoring 13 for daily living and 10 for mobility, as an ongoing one. In complete contrast to my DLA to PIP transfer the assessor this time, a nurse called Rachel, was lovely and very understanding. I had my support worker present and also Karen from Fightback4Justice as I called on their expertise for my review.
The decision was made very quickly, in just over two weeks and I actually found out the good news by phone after I called the DWP on Monday just gone (28th November) to see how the review was going. They told me that the confirmation was in the post and it actually arrived the next day. I'm really pleased with the result as it was above and beyond what I was expecting.
And yes, there are good assessors out there!

Just a message from the community.
We can see that this user has shared a positive experience with an organisation. However, as they have not advertised them, more so included them as part of their process, we wanted to highlight that this service does cost. This won’t be something that works for or is accessible to everyone.
If you do need additional support, we wanted to highlight that there are free services with, Advice Local, Citizen’s Advice and our own Scope Helpline and services.
