Too bloody cold - though will watch them from the window
-
I used to buy fireworks when the kids lived at home, not any more, i don't mind them, we also went to the local display which was always brilliant, now we just stay at home with the curtains open snug with the heating on watching the neighbourhood fireworks
-
I might buy a box of matches, if they still have them?! ?
A bonfire would be nice but what about carbon footprints. ??
I think ill just watch from my window too, it is ccccold! ?“This is my simple religion. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. Your own mind, your own heart is the temple. Your philosophy is simple kindness.”

My son has gone to local bonfire I will just watch all the neighbours from inside warm and cosy
They all started about an hour ago
There is a massive display planned for later as a very prominent man from our village unfortunately passed away and his funeral was today . It may not sound appropriate but he had a real passion for life and they are celebrating his life -
I’m just watching from the living room too.

I'll be listening from inside, already so many going off.Online Community CoordinatorConcerned about another member's safety or wellbeing? Flag your concerns with us.

I'm listening to them from inside, used to go to displays and done our own in the past.
-
I just hope they don’t go on too late into the night.

Loved watching the fireworks from the window of my new house whilst moveing things in the house
-
I'm not a fan, so I listened from inside and made sure my pets weren't getting too stressed.
They all just hunkered down in the nest while I carried on as normal. It can be an awful time for animals. -
I went to a local fireworks display with some friends, which was nice.
There were lots of fireworks going off until quite late, and I felt sorry for all of the dogs yelping
@Teddybear12 the ones run by my local council were cancelled too. They released a statement on their website explaining why, which you might find useful in understanding the rules around outdoor events. -
I read somewhere that silent fireworks may become a thing. I hope so...
-
They weren't silent, but they used to do a firework display when I was growing up that was geared towards young children that only had the quieter fireworks, i.e. those that don't bang @Cress. I always thought that was quite a good idea.

Daughter brought grandson who's 8 a kitten yesterday, they'd had it for an hour when it disappeared grandson was heart broken, it turned up 3 hours later under the fridge, no doubt frightened by the fireworks.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

@woodbine I hope the kitten is recovering.
We've got 35+mph winds here and people are STILL letting off fireworks. -
@TheAlien yes all fine now thanks.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

I stayed home snuggled up in my duvet. We've had bonfire fireworks and divali fireworks for the past month. After the first week the novelty wore off. But I did enjoy watching from my bedroom window. Luckily my usually skittish cat isn't bothered by the loud noises. It's easier to be nice🙂

I read an awful story about a young dog that had a seizure and sadly went on to have fatal heart attack due to fear of fireworks really sad
