Hi, I currently am in the assessment period for ESA. I get UC too & PIP.
Just wondering if anyone can help, I’m sure I will be entitled too SDP. But I cannot seem to work out if I will get it because of UC?
If added to my ESA, it will automatically come off my UC, but it cannot be added to UC?
I really hate how confusing benefits are. Thank you

As you're claiming ESA and UC together then your ESA will be New style ESA and this is a contributions based only benefit. There are no disability premiums (including SDP) payable on this ESA.
Eligibility
Disability premium payments can be added to your:
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- housing benefit
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
You cannot get the SDP unless you are on the old income based ESA which you are not.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
