I sort of know how you feel as often in my experience bad things happen in groups and they get more and more, like a snowball.
What I would say is at least you tried, it’s better to try than not bother trying at all. Plus you can learn from the mistakes.You’re not a failure, you make lots of interesting threads on here that I like reading and are clearly intelligent and knowledgeable about a lot of things. -
