My son has started skipping his lunches at school. He says theres nothing he likes and refuses to take packed lunches as he doesn't like cold sandwiches. The school doesn't allow students to go out for lunch. Would be grateful if anyone has any ideas.

Could there be any other reason he doesn't want to get lunch at school? I know the cafeteria at my school growing up was hell. So noisy, busy, lines would take all of lunch just to get food so not enough time to eat. Bullying at lunch was rife too. I don't know how his CP affects him but does he have any adjustments at school for lunch time?
Is there any alternative he would eat as a packed lunch? Even if it's just snacks like a bag of crisps or biscuit just so he isn't having nothing at all?

I mean It's going to be noisy as there's 3 different year groups all in the canteen. He doesn't have any adjustments, his CP affects his lower limbs but he has botulinum toxin injections to manage it.
He'll have a packet of crisps and a drink but that's it. He has a little snack when he gets home at 3:30pm then I cook his tea at 5pm.
He's wanting to start the gym as his friends go, but he's not getting enough calories in so I'm just a bit unsure on what to do.
Thank you ever so much for your response. First time I've been on here. -
HI @Liverpool214
Welcome to the community and thanks for your post. Teenagers, eh? I have one myself. It is doubtful that your son's Botulinum Toxin injections have affected his appetite.
Many people living with CP can be self-conscious about eating in front of people, I certainly was, and I hear it from other young adults with CP. Also, it is worth considering the influence of what he is viewing on social media and how that might impact his body image and self-confidence. It's a difficult conversation to have but it is important.
Happy to support you if you think that would help.Scope
