Being disabled won't automatically put you on the priority list. If you're a single person then the wait can be considerably long.First you need to put yourself on the housing list and then you can refer yourself for a needs assessment from your local Authority. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/Once you've had the assessment they will then decide what help they can give. What's the reason for wanting to move house?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
The sad fact is there is a massive shortage of social housing and Avery long waiting list.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

There's 2 types of housing, private landlord or social houisng (used to be more known as council housing)

Hi @louise89Shell1987
Just bobbing on to let you know, I've moved your thread to our Housing and independent living category so others can find it more easily.
Are you comfortable with the next steps of how to apply to the council (social) housing register?
