Hi everyone, I'm new here, So I'm unsure if I'm in the right category.
Anyway my mum passed away back in November, She was the council tenant, I lived with her as I was her carer, So I was luckily allowed to take the tenancy on....
I was on universal credit at the time, And was changed bedroom tax straight away.
I have read that they should give you a 3 month bedroom tax exemption after a death? Does anyone know if this is correct

Hello there @cateroo5 and thank you for reaching out with your query, I am sorry to hear about your mum's passing. I'm afraid I'm not certain on the answer for this, but I'm sure our members can share their thoughts.
I know that Shelter has some general information on bedroom tax, so they may be worth contacting for further advice about this.
Equally, I'd encourage you to reach out to Cruse or The Good Grief Trust if you need any ongoing support with bereavement, whether it's dealing with admin, or for emotional support.
