I am mother to a 25yr old son with CP, MLD, ASD and epilepsy. We live in North Devon and struggle to find support for him. He is starting to think about independent living and wants to move to North Somerset, specifically Portishead where he has family and friends…. I have no idea where to even begin to help him achieve this goal and feel totally out of my depth and scared of the prospect of him moving away and being alone and vulnerable

Hello @Singingbint
Welcome to the community!
With family and friends he won't be alone, but I can understand as a parent you'll always feel that way! You could start by reaching out to Portishead Town Council? Ask what services they have, what support is available for your son and ask if they have any community events or meetings that meet his interests? Would be a lovely way for him to make even more friendsHannah - She / Her
