I feel like this is a discussion that happens every year for me. I think it's something a lot of people have opinions on.
I've already heard of shops putting out the christmas chocolate boxes the past few weeks.
When should shops really put out christmas items? Not presents and the like, but christmas themed items. Chocolates, cakes, general food, decorations etc.
Actually, let's extend this out to all holidays. Cause I remember I saw easter eggs in shops on the 2nd of January this year. I was quite baffled.

I suppose the correct answer is whenever the volume of sales justifies the real estate that could be used for other products.
But just for me personally, when I start to take an interest, is around late October. -

I agree I think, late October is a good time for christmas. 2 months before Easter sounds about right for Easter eggs too.
I know they are companies trying to make a profit, and this is likely very profitable for them, but it just feels odd you know?They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

Ha ha, yes I do know what you mean, I am sure there are people who would buy Christmas cake in March or June if it was available!!

Personally, I don't want to see any Christmas stuff before Halloween. And no Halloween stuff before October.
But that would leave the seasonal aisle empty through September. -
Should we come up with a new holiday for September then?
If I remember correctly, Talk Like A Pirate Day is in September....They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

It works like this, they finish off selling summer stock and the likes of gardening lines then its time to put Christmas out on the shop floor, stock they would have ordered in Jan/Feb and taken delivery of, then once xmas is all done and dusted out come the Easter eggs which they ordered the previous summer and taken delivery of before xmas. And on it goes2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

Hold on! Doesn't Xmas start with stir up Sunday, 26th Nov?
