LCWRA came as a shock to me!

So for context, I was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis in May and spent a month in hospital. I supplied fit notes because even up to this day I haven't had an all clear for being contagious and exhausted all the time. I filled in the questionnaire back in around August and sent it back assuming it was just to check I wasn't pulling a fast one. I'm still on treatment for it until march at least.

I had my health assessment just last week and the decision to put me on LCWRA today. I had no idea that it would entitle me to additional benefit but it has given me a huge peace of mind and a weight off my shoulders. Like I say, I was just doing it to show that I wasn't lying in my fit notes.

It's been a rough old year, but this has really relaxed me and has been very welcome. I did t even know what LCWRA was a week ago.

We also discussed that I have hiv and the TB knocked my immune system massively. I developed sarcomas on the feet and was re admitted to hospital in August with that. They then found lung blood clots and a partially collapsed lung! Surfise to say Tuberlosis really has impacted me a lot!
