Hi all,
I currently receive ctc, but I know my migration notice is due in my area from February 2024.
As of May 2024, I will be unemployed, having just finished my degree. From May to September, I will be unemployed.
I have a child who is 10, and she has SEND needs and is medicated. I used to receive carers allowance. However, when I started my degree, I had to come off it. My daughter gets middle rate care dla. I still care for her more than the 35 hours a week. Will I be put into a work commitment group?
Thanks

May i ask how you know it's from February? As your daughter is claiming mid rate care DLA then when you claim UC you'll need to report being her carer and your UC will include the carers element. You will then have no commiments as a carer. There is no earnings limit to carers element, like there is with carers allowance and you don't need to claim carers allowance to be entitled to carers element.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hi,
Thank you sp much for that information.
I follow https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/resources/uc-managed-migration-overview this page. And we are in one of the February areas. -
Please note that the guide is just that, a guide to the roll out of managed migration. It doesn't mean you'll receive your notice letter in that month. When you do receive it, you will have 3 months to apply for UC, if you don't apply by that date your Tax credits will end.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
