Hi I'm just wondering if someone could give guidance on pip I have recieved my award even though I've been awarded it for 10 years because my circumstances have change I score less than I did when I was first awarded it.
What concerns me is I've been waiting a year for my review to be looked at so I asked my mp to ask pip If it's going to be a lot longer before I know.
My mp sent me an email on 19th of Feb from pip saying they were having a case manager look at my review and if it needed to go to a provider then they would look at it. On 20th of Feb at 8am they said my review was complete and that I would recieve a letter in 2 weeks of the award I was getting.
On having to ask for a mandatory reconsideration I was told my pip review had gone to a outside provider to be looked at. My point is sorry for long texr within hours of getting the email on 19th from my mp the review was complete and my award letter dated same day 19th of Feb . My friend had had her review at same time it's going to take 6 weeks to make a decision. Seems they have rushed mine through -
With all due respect, you did contact your local MP because you couldn't wait any longer for the decision. They contacted PIP on your behalf and then you had the decision.
If you disagree and think your award should be higher then you can request the MR. You should put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. MR decisions can take up to about 12 weeks.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Yes I did contact my mp because it had been a year since they had recieved my review and had notice again that it could be 2025 which would make me 66 if I was refused I would then be unable to apply for pip it would have to be attendance allowance. Thanks. This isn't the right platform for me as I am ill as many people are but don't want to get into debates about what I should do. I have a mandatory reconsideration in I've a disabled son so I know how the system works.

There are backlogs of over 400,000 people waiting for review decisions so yes the waiting is exceptionally long. I'm currently go through a review myself.
For the avoidance of doubt, if a claimant is refused PIP before they reach state pension age and challenge that decision, if they are then successfully awarded they will receive what is owed and their payments will continue going forward, even if they are over state pension age when the decision is made.
I'm sorry you think that about the forum. There's many lovely people here, and some helpful people that spend their free time advising thousands of people. (myself included)
What I don't understand is that you contacted your local MP and then moaned the decision was made quickly after that.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
No I'm not moaning over it please if you are giving advice then saying things like that can be upsetting you maybe a person who can take it I can't. I didn't expect any special treatment I've been in same situation with my son who I've had to fight for pip over the years. Kind words don't cost nothing I will leave this chat. But can I say this not everyone can put things like you have they be nothing to you to say someone Is moaning it may only small but the can hurt if your mental health is really bad

Hi @Robroy31, welcome to the community. I'm sorry if you've been put off a little. I think it may be a misunderstanding a little. I believe you're complaining that the decisions appears to have been rushed, given the circumstances that it was done so soon after your MP emailed. I understand the worry about a rushed decision given you scored less and the impact that can have on you.
The review process has the same appeal processes as the application, and as Poppy mentioned if your appeal is successful then you will keep getting PIP beyond State Pension age.
You can also make a new claim if your last PIP claim ended less than 1 year before your new claim. The reason for the new claim must related to a condition from your last award, or have developed from a condition you claimed for in your last PIP award.
For your Mandatory Reconsideration we have a small advice section, which also signposts support you can get with your MR, here: Appealing a DWP decision | Disability charity Scope UK
I'll be moving this discussion over to our PIP category. I'm again sorry if you've felt put off, we do all have different communication styles and that can cause misunderstandings.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

Thank you so much for your post Jimm I really appreciate it. Wasn't moaning honestly
I've spoken to pip this morning who now say my pip review wasn't looked at by outside healthcare professional. I did say to the lady who did say it had been looked i saud twice so it was looked at by healthcare professional she said yes
That's why I was saying how could it be looked at by a caseworker then be looked at by outside healthcare professional and have the award letter dated on the same day it was suppose to be sent out to be looked .
.
I really appreciate people's advise but to say I was moaning is completely wrong.
I was told one thing by pip on Monday that didn't correlate with getting an award letter printed on the same day. Hard to explain it.
