hello all  I have a Question if some one can help  me with it
I started  claiming uc jan 24 moved over from tax credits, All move over no problems
the question is my wife is self employed her earning after expenses are about 130 pounds per week as she works part time. She gets 185 pounds per month carers element added to uc carers allowances is, 76.75 per week so 4 weeks would be 307 pounds
would we have to make a claim to carers allowance on gov.uk or would uc make it up at some point or am I missing some thing I get ESA in support group which is remove from uc I also get pip, both components at hight rate thanks in advance for any information regards

The £185.86/month in with your UC Is carers element. This is different to carers allowance.

If she claims Carers allowance it’s just deducted in full from any UC entitlement so there’s no financial gain to claiming it at the same time.

As you are in the Support Group for ESA does your UC include the LCWRA element as well?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Yes, carers allowance is always deducted in full from UC.

I can confirm that if you are claiming UC then carers allowance is deducted from your UC amount so you will be paid less via UC but should receive carers allowance via the normal way.
