25th Anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act, but what still needs to be improved?
On the 8th
November 2020, it’s the
25th Anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). The DDA was a landmark piece of legislation that was a result of years of
protests and campaigning by disabled people. The act made it unlawful to
discriminate against disabled people in relation to employment, the provision
of…

Yes that's right, it's one of the best national months of all time, Pet Month. A time to praise our animal companions, be they of fin, feather or fur. :) We thought it'd be nice to split things up into weeks, so week one will of course be dog week! and we'd like to introduce you all to our furry friends; This is…

It's my party and I'll cry if I want toooooooo 🎈
A very merry and super happy birthday to MEEEEEEEEEEE!! :D Yep, I am wishing myself a happy birthday!! And I don't care if it seems weird, because usually I spend my birthdays emotional and crying but I'm feeling pretty good today!! I think because my life doesn't feel so pointless as it has every other birthday! I've been…

Random little things that made you smile
We have some neighbours who have put some cute figurine character things in their car, on the dashboard. Their car is parked outside our house, and it made me smile, they don't serve any purpose they are just cute and it shows the personality of who did it, just fun and nice :D Someone had left a bottle of Jack Daniels in…

"It's not my job" mentality? Or just following procedures?
Hopefully this won’t get people arguing too fiercely but I wanted to get different points of view because I obviously have my own views on this but like to always try to consider all sides so would be interested to hear what people think Someone who works for a health clinic told us about something that recently happened A…

What appeals to you about gaming??
Looks like there is a growing group of gamers on the forum (alliteration was unintentional I swear!! :D ) But why? What got you into gaming? Why do you play and what appeals about it? Do you remember the first game you played? Do you play solo or online games?

Haircuts; Do you have any issues?
Haircuts was mentioned earlier in the How's your day? discussion and I thought it would be interesting to hear from more people about it! So, tell us about your haircuts. I only get my hair cut every 6 months. I do go to a nice salon for it though as I have had bad experiences at barbers in the past. My main issue is…

Happy Fun Stuff!😊
I very rarely see something and without properly considering it just think I need to buy it however that happened today. I like having bright and "happy" things whether that's decorating in bright colours or having colourful stuff. Lots of people at the moment like their living space to be all grey and neutral, well I ...…

World poem day.
I don't know if the poem "day" is still on, but, I just wrote this. I’m
Welsh. It’s
a little bit funny, being Welsh inside You
don’t understand my feeling of pride But
if you were born here, there’s no need to explain I
was born in Cardiff, near the Cardiff Town Hall Bells. When
Wales play Rugby, the red is everywhere…

Favourite city and why?
A response I posted to someone made me want to ask this question to the forum Ever since I was old enough to know my own views and things I have really loved Cambridge. What I love is not the beautiful parks and old buildings or museums or universities…though they are all great…but I just always thought Cambridge is a…

Are people friendlier up north?
What do you think?? It's often joked that people are friendlier up north but I am wondering if there is actually something in it I live relatively down south but often go up north and I find that up there more people are chatty, if you say “hi” to a stranger they don’t act surprised :D This does still happen a bit down…

Our Community Clock & British Summer Time Adjustment
Our digital timekeeper seems to have missed the memo about the shift to British Summer Time, resulting in all our post times trailing an hour behind the current UK time. For instance, a post I made this morning at 5:26 am is displaying as 4:26 am. Scope may need to manually adjust the clock to ensure accurate timekeeping.

Have you ever supported a cause that doesn't advantage you?
I have come across him lots before but today rediscovered a philosopher called John Stuart Mill who when he wasn't being a philosopher he was a high profile campaigner for equality for women, which he presumably wasn't doing for his own benefit and he was even mocked a bit for at the time Obviously any changes brought…
