Hi,
After a long few years, I have just been told that ME/CFS is responsible for my issues. I’m working out how to manage my role as a carer for my son and the diagnosis… it’s nice to have found this community x

Hi @Kate79, welcome to our community Sounds like you've had a bit of a difficult time, but at least you have an answer to what is causing the issues?
About helping with the care needs of your son, we have a section about getting help via Respite Care. You have a legal right to be assessed to see what the local authority can do to help with the carer duties.0 -
Thank you so much for this. I appreciate it so much. I do have a very supportive family but it’s getting my own head into the space of being the caree rather than the carer. Apparently I am not so good at asking for help!0

@Kate79 I was the same, it can take time and it still doesn't always feel right when I do ask for help. I'm so glad you have found the community Hope you have been keeping well?0
