Looking to Move to another city
Hi Everyone,
it's nice to be part of a community here. I am a father of a 5 year old boy who has ASD and ADHD. We moved to Birmingham from London in 2023 due to economic reasons but shortly afterwards my son was diagnosed with these conditions, now I am finding really hard to get any support from the LA as the council is literally bankrupt and cannot even pay the bin collectors properly.
I have gathered some data from the DfE to get a ranking of how LAs in England rank up from best to worst when it comes to SEND provision but that's just data; was wondering, keeping everything else aside, does anyone has any recommendations when it comes to SEND provisions and access to specialist schools.
PS: please let me know and I can share that data if anyone wants.

Hi @FarooqMunir - & welcome to the community. You could try contacting IPSEA to see if they can advise (or point you in the right direction):

@chiarieds, thanks for the heads up. I know about IPSEA but I haven't contacted them yet. I spoke to SENDIASS recently and found them to be in-partial on any recommendations along these lines.

Hi @FarooqMunir and a warm welcome to the community!
There information on this webpage about how to find a specialist school and information on here about extra support in school. I know IPSEA has already been mentioned but they are also really good to go to as they are the legal experts too☺️0
