I was raised by my dad and despite only seeing my mum once a month as a child and much less once I hit my teens, I still ended up quite like her. I'm more similar to my dad but much of the things I like or don't like are the same as my mum, even without her influence!
What about you?

My looks and my hobbies and interests are very different to my parents’! Also a lot of my views aren’t shared though some are. I do have some traits in common with them but I think only in so much as everyone shares some kind of trait with everyone else.

I'm a healthy mixture of both, thankfully didn't get my dad's huge nose :)

My dad was a lifelong socialist and I get that from him, but being lucky enough to have been brought up by both my parents I get most of who/what I am from both of them.

No thankfully, my parents were older parents, me being youngest of 7. I've raised my kids differently, they kinda had a victorian attitude, like if we were fed and clothed etc,  that's all that mattered, they kinder didn't guide in anything, don't remember them at any parents evenings at school, you just got on with it. No encouragement to do well in exams or incentive.
With mine I've been to parents evenings and everything and emotionally supportive and encouragement. I mean it could of been worse I guess

Unfortunately, i'm my mother's double which is horryfying. I showed my grandson a picture of us both taken about 6 years ago. He thought for a couple of minutes and then said "2 nannies." He's only 2 bless him but it was funny.
Thankfully, i'm nothing at all like her as a person. One of the biggest differences between us is my children and grandson are my whole world.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

My parents are a bit younger but I do see how their own upbringing resulted in how they were with me.

I am very much my Mothers daughter and we were good friends also, i have the same looks and the same wicked sense of humour.
I have my Fathers love of gardening, my Dad used to win awards for his garden, he taught me every think.
Both my parents were born in the 1920's x

That's good leaving maternity leave late as means she'll get more of it on the other side with her baby. Congratulations and I can't wait to hear update once she's arrived safe <3

I look like my mother and when I go off on one of my rants people say I sound like her.She never ranted though,it was all sly, sarcastic digs with her;ranting was my father's thing.

They are, for sure! Yes, i agree with you there. Before my grandson was born people used to tell me how wonderful it is being a nanny but i didn't realise just how wonderful it really is. <3
