Anyone else here left handed?

At school I was almost always the only lefthanded person in my class.

One of my earliest memories is being at school and them trying to force me to write with my right hand - and it wasn't that long ago either!!

I’m right handed. My brother is left handed and I remember him being discouraged from using his left had when he was a young boy.
My grandson is also left handed.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Under normal conditions around 20% of people worldwide are left handed.  So you'd expect about 5 or 6 in a school class of 30 on average.

I'm right handed.  Though having OCD has made me fairly ambidextrous.  I can do most things lefthanded, can even type fine lefthanded, the only thing I can't do successfully with my left hand is handwriting.

Same with me, I always figured it was from how much I was discouraged from being left handed growing up.

I never knew that how you hold knife/fork was left or right handed! So with knife in left hand is the left handed way?

I'm glad I was only made to sit on my left hand rather than having it tied!! Honestly it's shocking it was ever a thing. I'm only in my 30s and it was made such a huge deal of when I was in primary school.

Thats what we were brought up to believe Biblio - hubbys Mom and one of his brothers are left handed,
If you lay a table you always put knife on the right and fork on the left, the same as soup spoons, for starters are always on the right x

It's amazing that, left or right, it can effect your ability regards sports, i.e. left handed batsman  - cricket, right footed footballer (shoot with their right foot) etc.

I'm ambidextrous. As a kid I always ate left handed, still do & did some things cack handed as my mum used to say. Then, as an adult, after breaking both wrists several times (thankfully at different times) it forced it really. It is er...handy though!
