Hi,DWP will contact you either just before or just after his 16th birthday. PIP is different to DLA. It's not awarded based on a diagnosis, it's how those conditions affect your ability to carry out daily activities based on the PIP descriptors. No one can tell you whether his claim will be successful or not.Evidence will be needed to support his claim and should be sent when you return the form. Expect him to have a face to face assessment because most people have them. His DLA will continue until a decision's been made on the PIP, providing the PIP forms are returned within the time frame given. This may help you have some more understanding about what the descriptors mean. It's a long read but well worth it.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
