in Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
Hi everyone I have a friend who had a text message from ESA saying to contact them  as soon as possible regarding some ESA payments they may owe them. The phone number is for ESA but he's worried they want to assess him on the phone straight away. Do they need to give you an appointment for this  he's worried they will turn it in to one when he phones. Thank you everyone for being here x

    It is very unlikely it will be a assessment but as they say a call to discuss other matters 

    It isn't dwp that do assessment it is outsourced companies

    Assessment usually take place after review forms have been completed

    DWP have been known to send text messages asking the claimant to call them regarding their benefit claims, especially if the person doesn't answer their phone to unknown numbers. Nothing to worry about.
