I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease yesterday, just wondering if anyone else has this?
I've been hospitalised twice with kidney infections, the most recent being in September last year - both times I've been really severely poorly with it and it's just not a pleasant thing to experience.
I've got one kidney small than the other and from what I can gather, I was born with that as I was 10 weeks premature and was only 2lb 7oz and have always been prone to UTIs.
The consultant told me not to worry and let it stress me out, but I'm going through so much with my health at the moment that I can't help but worry about it. Thankfully I've got an appointment with my GP in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping she'll be able to give me some support.

That's not great news, but it might be an idea to ask your consultant what you can do to improve things, diet, etc.

Thinking of you @CountryMimi. This all sounds really difficult to deal with and particularly worrying for you at the moment. You have done really well to reach out to us.
Do you, currently, have access to support from the consultant and other health professionals? They might be best placed to support you through this and advise you the best way they can.

I'm due a phone call from the consultant at some point in the next 2 or 3 weeks, but other than that, I've just got my phone call with the GP - I've managed to build a rapport with a specific doctor there (unfortunately my surgery doesn't have the best reputation, but this lady seems really invested in her patients)

Hi @CountryMimi sorry to read about your diagnosis, definately get all the information you need from your drs and consultant with plans how to manage going faward. I'm sorry I can't really add any more to advise, someone else might have experience with your condition and can add more imput.

I think it's going to be a waiting game to see what the underlying problem is. It may be that it's just the one kidney I'm having problems with, which I suppose really would be the best case scenario -
Yes it would, consultant might have some tricks up his/her sleeve, they do some good stuff

Just thought I'd give a little update, had my MRI scan this morning, so should have results within the next two to three weeks.
Had the dye contrast. My veins are always trouble makers, so getting the canula in took nearly as long as the actual scan 😂😂😂
Anyone else's veins like to hide away? -

Anxious about it, but I'll be ok -
Finally had ultra sound done today - was supposed to have had a few weeks back but my car battery went flat and I couldn't get to my appointment. Hopefully hear something soon!

I've had a text message to say I've got a phone appointment on 2nd June. I'm assuming it's for Kidneys as it didn't say, but it could also be for my back 😂
