my doctor suggested I should have one of these. Can anyone give me information are they comfortable do they help quality of life.

Hi @cat1932 I look after adults who have these and they don't really complain about them. They are less intrusive than urethral catheters but need an initial incision in your stomach below the belly button straight into the bladder. My late Dad had one and he said it gave him more freedom. I know having spoken to Urologists that they generally look at doing Suprapubic when the person is still sexually active. Otherwise it just gets in the way

I have no experience with that specific type of catheter. However they are usually only recommended for people who are sexually active. Ask your urologist for more information. Get as much information as you can possibly get about the whole thing.
Prepare a short list of questions to ask them too.
