Tax and benefits
I keep hearing about the burden placed on tax payers by benefits claimants. Why do politicians talk about claimants and tax payers as if they're separate entities? I've paid tax and lots of it. There's a sense of the "deserving poor" and the "undeserving poor" - a victorian social concept being pushed in todays society.ā¦

HS2 - What to do about ?
HS2 is going to cost a ridiculous £100 billion by the time it is up and running ! What should be done about it ? Would the money have been better spent on other things - what ? Can the country afford this for a short length (not even into central London) of higher speed rail line to Birmingham ?
