interesting question regarding todays news.

As a young adult I'll never forgive people putting labor in power, yet people must of known what would happen.

I remember seeing an aussie news show way back just after the election in 2024, I think it was sky news aussie version, I remember a man called alan smith who was funny during the pandemic times.

He said people should have an IQ test to determine if they are unbiased enough & understand how democracy works.

I agreed then & agree now - do you peeps?

If we had IQ tests to vote, most of the population wouldn't be able to vote.

maybe true - I mean I think the soul of a person counts for a lot, as well as basic humanity & IQ…. looking at most celebs, politicians etc I question they so called "eton" education or "rada" training

as siad you can put lippy on a pig - its still gonna be a pig.

also - look at he USA,

a good portion of people who voted republican were intelligent, gay, hetro, white, black, hispanic

why can't we have that level of thinking over here?

oh also - Autism, a lot of autistic people are highly intelligent.

why do you think people brush it under the carpet so many times as another "fad" illness

    fear - that's why.

look up rhesus negative blood types, Hispanic & native American culture houses a lot of "truth" bombs to read.

Meh, 2 years ago I voted Labour, because they said at the time that they'd look after the disabled, and 2 years later, look what's happening?

well - hate to say it but look at their record throughout history, look at the pandemic - they wanted harsher restrictions.

you get what you ask for sorry.

    No.

I've got an IQ of 116 which is meant to be above average

And I've done some really, really stupid things in my life, so a highish scoring IQ doesn't always translate to common sense/ right choices (and considering my testing was done 30 + years ago by HMP … tells you how really really stupid )

    … but that's just my opinion …

I have an IQ of 132 when last tested at college, and even then I wouldn't say I'm smart. I'm very good at alot of things, however I seriously lack in alot of social que's or "street smart" i.e Knowing deception, reading people or alot of common sense.

Is society not stratified enough, why should we create yet more division?

division was caused when people made that fatal mistake back in July 2024 sadly.

go back to various news articles from here & abroad, on fox news there was a segment from a newspaper - english one - where they are asked people how they were going to vote, mostly older people, the older gent at the very end was informed that tzxes would rise & his stock answer was that his family have always voted labor, he stated he knew his taxes would go up, his qaulity of life would go down but he had to vote labor as his family always had.

now thats a indicator isn't it!

Let us rephrase the question to reflect what it would actually mean.

Should the government be allowed to set a test to determine whether each individual is allowed to vote?

It's a no-brainer: even MAGA* can work that out.

[* Are we allowed to say that? Or does the required political neutrality extend across the Atlantic?]

no - the government would pick & choose….

MAGA is just an inword or insult, thinly veiled attack on myself but I see through it.

also - Make America Great Again - simple logic in that the usa wanted to bring back the manufactruing powerhouse that it once was….

I wish you people could see that

Interesting facts when you read of how much rainforests have been destroyed for factories that make stuff made in the PRC,

basic simple facts, do yo research.

lastly - I have zero allegiance with any political entity .!!!

Political discussions are allowed, but not discussions which are purely intended to influence voting.

IQ tests are widely known to be racist and ableist, especially towards POCs and intellectually disabled people. Therefore anyone who supports IQ tests for voting supports the idea those groups shouldn't vote.

Now mandatory education in politics, economics and critical thinking, both in schools and in wider society, is a different matter.

The Independent article titled "British public are wrong about almost everything, survey shows" rings true today just as it did back then.

And they still insist on teaching pointless subjects like Algebra and Calculus, which nobody ever uses outside the Classroom.

And when 95% of European Countries speak at least some modicum of English, why are stuff like French, Spanish or even German still mandatory?

I used to say the same about Algebra in school … then in adult life I use it to work out how much paint is required, or to work out mitre angles in carpentry. Nurses etc … to give the right dosage to weight ratio for meds

Calculus not so much … but I wouldn't fancy going over a bridge if the structural engineer hadn't excelled in it 😁

Daily drug and alcohol tests are needed for members of parliament, officials, and politicians.
