Call up
Who agrees we should bring call up back for younger people out of not working?..there is talk about it happening. Personally I think it should happen and soon, it would alleviate unemployment and teach people to stand on their own two feet.

Lack of fully accessible hotels
I am trying to find fully accessible hotels - when I say "accessible" - I mean No step between parking and room Secure Parking by the hotel entrance - not in an insecure car park, 1/2 mile away Accessible bathroom - with shower and enough room to turn 180 degrees Level access to restaurant Hotel.com has 3 hotels that meet…

Living on your own: What advice would you give? (asking for a mate)
Hi folks, long time no see! A friend of mine may have been offered a place, and I wanted to ask what advice you’d give to a disabled person living independently (with support from carers). Also, as he’s from a BAME/minority faith background as well as having cerebral palsy and using a wheelchair, are there any additional…

Why is it so difficult to get a blue badge?
We applied to Sheffield City Council a few years back for one, but because I don't trust the local Postal service to not lose important documents, we were sending in copies and not the original evidence documents and the Clowns in the Town Hall insisted on the originals so we were denied. Has anyone else experienced this…

8yrs and counting without a bath
When i moved into my sheltered accommodation approx 8yrs ago a wet room was installed by the landlord. Initially i loved being able to sit under a hot shower but as time progressed i would find myself longing for a bath because from childhood onwards baths were all i ever knew. From bathing in the kitchen sink as a very…

Not coping about care needs process + extra medical issue
Hello I always feel so bad posting, even though is rare, as know everyone's going through stuff, but feeling risk of losing mind. Hard to summarize too. Takes me many hours of editing, as dealing with dissociation in form of intrusive violation I feel physically, since early 2000s, along with abusive 'voice' about…

Whether to give up work/retire.
HI everyone, Just wondered if I could ask for thoughts/opinions/experience of the group to maybe help me come to a decision on giving up work/retiring? I am 63 years old and currently off work as I've had a hip replacement. I am due to start back soon - I have my own little business as a self employed tutor after taking…

Advice on suitable pathways for wheelchair users
Hi! We are a fundraising group who created a new playground in our park. We put a lot of thought into making it accessible and the designers sold us a path of 'selfbinding gravel' which we were told would be suitable for wheelchair users. Alas, it has proved to be awful, neither gravel nor self binding so we are looking to…

What inspires you in music?
My 'ladies' are 9 years old tomorrow and I was just getting their music/favourite tunes ready for their party 😁. The first song on their tapes is 'Georgie Girl' (The Seekers /1967). It was the first song I performed in the late '80s, not karaoke but paid, whoopee woo! but only c 40.00, in a Soho piano bar. VERY un-PC when…

If you're Autistic/Neurodiverse, how often do you have meltdowns?
Personally I've just had quite a big one this morning, I was on a rant to Dad, who has Alzheimer's, about various issues in my offline life of late, and he just keeps telling me to shut up because I have a loud voice due to profound hearing loss, and he knows I've been deaf since August 1984 at the age of 8 and a bit so…
