What inspires you in music?
My 'ladies' are 9 years old tomorrow and I was just getting their music/favourite tunes ready for their party 😁.
The first song on their tapes is 'Georgie Girl' (The Seekers /1967). It was the first song I performed in the late '80s, not karaoke but paid, whoopee woo! but only c 40.00, in a Soho piano bar. VERY un-PC when I listen now (especially the lines "why do all the boys just pass you by, could it be you just don't try, or is it the clothes you wear?"). Wow, ha ha... don't times change (thankfully!) apart from maybe the last verse which could apply now and be inspiring (I don't know how to upload it but worth listening to via YouTube, Melbourne Sidney Myer Music Bowl).
What song or piece of music inspires you? 'Georgie Girl' still has the ability to inspire me, not for a man but in bringing positive change (regardless of what I wear 🤣).

Santosha, I loved singing along to this song though it also made me cry because of those very lines!
I have a unisex name and was cute and pretty but had no confidence to embellish my appearance - unlike my sister only 1 year older - and I still don't know how to wear make up or style my hair 🤦♀️
(ps that never put the boys off 😉)

It always brings a tear to me @WhatThe, only 'cos of youth, the best of which is a bit too long gone! It reminds me of when I was 16 but can still resonate today. I can't say anything better about Judith Durham than what Elton John said 'A lot of people sing well, very few have individuality, there's only one Judith Durham'. Do you mind me asking have you heard it before? I guess you are quite a bit younger than me (I'm 62 but very young at heart ha ha). Some songs can reach deep within your soul I personally think this is one of them, despite its 'un-PC-ness!).

Btw @WhatThe, whatever our age we can shed those dowdy feathers and fly!

Young lady, I shall be 64 next week!
My parents played The Seekers' records at home so they take me right back. "I'll Never Find Another You" "The Carnival is Over" "Morningtown Ride" on the radio still have me singing and feeling sentimental.
I'd not heard Elton's praise, no.

I'm a sucker for an orchestra, they give me chills. This song is just so beautiful and inspires me to sing.
