New style ESA
I’m sure I read in the recent benefits consultation that there is something protecting your entitlements to benefits if you try work and it doesn’t work out. Daughter, 30, has autism and a EDS and was assessed as LCWRA last year. She desperately wanted to work and secured a Job which was wfh starting 5th May. Employer has…

ESA tax
Hi. I so thankful for all your help you have given me on here! I would appreciate your insight on this as I'm confused 🤔. Just got a letter saying about my change to universal credit from contribution based ESA. They have included a tax slip. I'm confused because they are saying the ESA type I was on was classed as…

ESA SDP Temporary Accommodation
Hello Please could you tell me if someone can still claim their SDP if sleeping on a friend's sofa until permanent accommodation is found. The claimant has not yet migrated to UC, so this is purely about how accommodation will affect the SDP. The friend offering the sofa is not in receipt of any benefits. Are they going to…

You can change your in person appointment to telephone
Hi I’ve seen some posts about concerns at having to attend an in person assessment for ESA so wanted to share my experience as I found that you can change this to a telephone appointment if you need to. My initial appointment was for a telephone assessment and they cancelled this on the day. I was offered the opportunity…

New style esa or UC?
Recently received migration notice for ESA. It's currently income based and is a joint claim. I've seen others state that although they were income based, upon starting migration have suddenly become eligible for new style esa due to contributions. I'm trying to work out if that's what might happen to us and if so will we…

ESA payments for support group short?
Hi everyone, hoping someone can clear this up for me. According to the government website, ESA payments for the support group are "Up to" £138.20 per week. I got a payment of £481.10. Minus the severe disability premium I get for PIP that's £99.90 per week. Is that correct? I've been in the support group since I started…

Can I change my phone number from uc account?
I'm on ns-esa and uc. I have a phone appointment to agree to my new style esa commitments. I need to update my phone number. Left an entry in uc journal but they said I should do this myself by reporting changes of circumstances from inside the uc portal. If I do this in the uc portal will it also update for the ns-esa too?

No payment for 7 years
My husband has had to deal with our adult sons’s benefits with no knowledge of the processes for the last 7 years as my mental health issues meant that I could no longer do so. I’ve now had the help I needed to get back on track and started getting reacquainted with my son’s benefits again. I noticed on his UC that there…
