Disability Sports
I'm not going to give up trying to do something about more disability sports and more people with disabilities being on tv, but I'm not getting any help from anyone and no-one is taking any notice of me. I don't know why because I'm trying to do something good and important. SAW.

Powerchair users, a silly question...
I'm weighing up whether a powerchair would be more suitable for me as I have fatigue and shoulder issues. BUT I just had a thought that Google can't give me a straight answer to - how much are you limited by the weather? OK apart from a terrible downpour no one would be out in anyway? Or do you have to be very careful? I'm…

Cold weather
I wonder how many disabled people suffering in this cold weather without affordable to put heating and have hot food then end up in A&E and making hard for hospital staff to manage beds because of the current government not supporting any of us in winter?

Limiting heating
I am definitely limiting putting my heating on to the amount id prefer. The cost is just ridiculous now.but what I find odd is the man who lives in the house opposite me literally has his windows open day and night in this freezing cold.People you speak to when you go out are wrapped up now in coats and hats so I know it's…

Friend's Supported Housing is cold
I wasn't sure where to put this so put it here. I visited my friend at her home and discovered that it was actually really cold. I suggested that we went out for coffee as the Cafe would have the heating on. It was 14 degrees in the warmest room because they have a temp guage thing. There are two carers, who won't put the…

How do you manage your budget (those with monthly and other payments)
I will at some stage be moving to uc which is monthly, but have pip which is four weekly. I believe uc pays out Monday which gives up numerous Bank Holidays to contend with. I need to try and work out if I am better trying to work out both as every four weeks or both as monthly. So far it's always been two/four weeks and…

Medication review, the system that's broken
I wasn't sure where to put this, but it shows again how broken our systems are. I get a yearly medication review, I used to see my gp annually for this because he wanted to see me. They retired/covid and you could simply do this over the phone with the receptionist. "is everything okay" "yes" Review complete! That's…

Befriending and being nice to people
Just been watching a few dispatches programmes and there are a lot of lonely people out there aren't there. One thing I did was ignore all the comments that were negative and unsympathetic. Saying they haven't planned for their retirement and only have themselves to blame. I think I am going to make more of an effort to…

Cooking, or not. How do you eat?
Although PIP gave me 2 points as I cannot use a cooker. I still said that you do not need a cooker anyway. A meal might have been considered to be meat and two veg. But it's 2024, you can buy and choose to eat healthy or not without cooking the meat on the cooker. The majority of food these days is capable of going in the…

PIP came back: ZERO points... your advice please
So my PIP came back on Friday, and I'm mildly annoyed. A friend of mine, who in volunteering for CAB, has written over 50 successful PIPS for people, says that this is a fairly generic 'yeah we didn't really think before writing you off' sort of response. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I will post their reply at the…

Blood Test Results
Good afternoon everyone. Hope you're all fit and well? I'm sitting here stunned and shocked (is that the same thing? 😝 ) For forty plus years, I've had a serious blood disorder, don't ask me to name it but it has quite a few x's and z's in it lol. And it all started when I was 16 after haemorrhaging and losing my baby at 7…

RP stress!
I have RP I don’t have any history of it in my family. They said it could skip generations. But, I have it if I had known I would never of had children the stress of passing it to them is unbearable. I know have 3 grandchildren to add to my stress. Both my children are in their 30s and don’t even wear glasses. Male and…
