Hi
I was my ex husband full time carer ( he has epilepsy ) long story cut short because i was too wrapped up in looking after my ex i neglected my own health i was struggling with being his carer and occasionally helping my dad with my disabled mum
I occasionally had a drink anyway just a few months before my 41st birthday i kept having pains in my head and throat at first my GP said it was tension headaches and stress
I started feeling weak and my legs started feeling like jelly and i would collapse just a few weeks before i was due to go for a CT scan i was rushed to hospital i was in hospital for 4 months
I am now much more stronger but sadly because of the illness i have been left with a brain injury and i am now wheelchair bound
My ex husband left me and i lost a few people

Hi, Sadly i don’t really have any friends and family no except for my parents who visit me once a fortnight
I am currently living in a care home but hopefully will have my own place soon
Apart from the garden no i haven’t been out if i am honest the thought of going out scares me
I know it sounds desperate ( not my words ) but i just want to make friends who are in the same situation as me

Hi @Fliss191679. It seems you've been through so much. Have you made any connections in the care home? It's completely understandable to want to find friends who are in a similar situation to you. They'll be able to understand how it affects you and can empathise.
You could post on
or join in/start a conversation in the where you can meet lots of new people and hopefully find someone who can relate to what you're going through 😊0 -
Hi Rachel
No i tend to stay in my room because majority of the residents are older than me or can’t talk i am the second youngest resident
