hi ,
Iv worked for 40 years and always paid my thousands of pounds tax and insurance but two 3 years ago I lost everything and it affected my health mentally and since has physically got worse too
I claim Universal credit but now they are saying they are reviewing it amd want pictures of me with my driving licence and my last 4 months statements . I have gone from earning a good salary to nothing and the only bit of help I have is Universal credit .
Why are they doing this now and will they scrutinise everything on my statements ? Thank you

This is a standard review that many thousands of people have had. Unfortunately paying your taxes for all those years makes no difference to means tested benefits.
You will need to send them what they’ve asked for otherwise your UC will stop. Once they receive that evidence then you will also need a telephone appointment. You will need to make sure you send them 4 months of bank statements for all bank accounts.
