National Puppy Day

It's National Puppy Day! It may be an unofficial day, but to me it feels like a very important one to celebrate especially as things have been a bit tough lately. The day was invented to celebrate the joy of puppies and encourage people to adopt and rescue pups all over the world.

It's definitely worth saying that rescues are often full with older dogs who have just as much love to give as the little ones. But of course, what the day is really about is just finding a good excuse to share cute pictures of our furry friends ๐Ÿ˜

Ted, a black, tan and white terrier puppy looking serene and smiling as he sleeps

So let me introduce you to Ted, a terrier pup we looked after a few times. He came in two modes: sleep or chaos. One time the two combined and he fell asleep mid-chaos having been gently asked not to chew holes in the blanket:

Ted the terrier having fallen asleep mid-chewing a red blanket

And here's my family's pet Moose when he was little. Another little monster but a cutie!

Moose, a border terrier puppy snuggled in some blankets stretching his feet out in front of him

Of course, while it's technically a day for puppies, we don't discriminate here. Puppies can be hard work and the oldies are just as worthy of being celebrated. So we would love to see some pictures of your pups whether they're young or old ๐Ÿ˜Š

So over to you! Bring on the puppy pics!

Ha ha omg raw GREEN tripe never heard of that eeugh ๐Ÿคฃ he looks very good and healthy on it though. Years ago i used to cook a concoction of minced beef, lambs liver, kidneys, hearts, rice and broccolli that used to absolutely pong my flat out and that used to turn my stomach until it was cooked ๐Ÿ™„ You must have a strong constitution ๐Ÿ‘.

No I've not read that. I'll Google it omg I've got around 200 books I've got to read, only read 1 last year 'cos of eyes but I really miss reading and have got a big magnifying glass.

My mum used to cook tripe for her and dad, neither my sisters nor I would eat it. I think it's cow's stomach.

It's good you get it in trays/prepared guessing it's mainly if cooking it it pongs. Bet I was popular with my upstairs neighbours, I only lived their 4 months. Gonna Google that book I'm addicted to them !

Now got to find the book, it sounds fascinating, love social history and glad it isn't a novel I only tend to read non- fiction.would love to see his publisher, Victor Gollancz's interview with MelvincBragg/1970 might You Tube that one. Thanks for mentioning, recommending it! Love the comment he couldn't economically justify getting married (Orwell) sounds like he was quite careful with money although c 88 years later I reckon there's some similarities to today overall.
