Number 5 would be the toast for me.

I have toast every day, yet I'm struggling to remember what it looks like! 😯

Also have wholemeal which might be adding further complication.

I reckon I'm about a 7. As toasted as it can get before it starts tasting burnt.

I remember my parents always making toast like number 9!

My preference is in the 3-4 range.

@OverlyAnxious, I didn't think about wholemeal bread, I might look to see if there is a similar visual for that somewhere!

I reckon it's 5 or 6 for me. You can't convince me that 9 is intentional. It looks like someone got distracted and forgot they'd left it in.

    5, 6 or 7 for me! 7 is particularly good with marmite😊

I agree @WhatThe and @vikingqueen, 9 should go straight in the bin!

Number 7 for me. I used to actually like my toast burnt, so even darker than 9!

What are your favourite spreads? Mine's salted butter, and lots of it.

well !!! OK I know that anything above 6 it’s bad for your health (apparently) but ….. 8 and 9 are my guilty secret !!!

Ooh, it has to be salted butter, the darker the toast the more butter needed too!

I love toast, and will take it as it comes. My preference is probably a 4-5 though.

    Number 5 for me!

This is not something I do every day, but if I'm feeling fancy I will split my toast into parts for a different taste sensation in each section. Some parts will be just plain butter, some will combine butter and jam. Occasionally there are also subsections for different jam flavours, peanut butter, or sometimes fruits like banana or blueberries. The combinations are never ending πŸ˜‚

I have never heard such wild toast tales @Rosie_Scope! Have you tried closing your eyes so it's a surprise each bite?

My friend didn't know what salted butter was until a couple of years ago @Anhedonia2! I felt so bad for him. His world has been changed.

Not often @Rachel_Scope, I usually like to be choosy about which bite I eat depending on how I feel in the moment. It's a well-planned toast extravaganza.

You lead such an adventurous life, @Rosie_Scope. I'm in awe.

I'm very very troubled by all this talk of Marmite and salted butter. Toast is not a savoury food I'm afraid!

I'm sorry what? How is toast not a savoury food @Carl_Scope!? I've never heard anyone say that before πŸ˜‚ Have you tried fairy bread? It's bread, butter, and hundreds and thousands. It seems like it's something you would enjoy.

Can’t remember the last time I had toast, number 5 for me with salted butter and marmite.

I thought eating butter was always salted? Unsalted only used for cooking or dietary requirements? I use a well-known brand which is apparently 'slightly salted' although I'm not sure I could tell the difference if it wasn't salted.

I only ever have butter on mine, never thought of toast as anything other than savoury!

You speak a lot of sense @OverlyAnxious. Butter must always be salted and toast is definitely savoury!
