It was horrible weather Been to drs again I have a diet sheet to try for my IBS I have been referred to the hospital as I have a prolapse and I have a curve in my spine all that in one day ir has overwhelmed me
Me and mum had sandwiches for tea and mum has fell asleep on the sofa0 -
Busy dat there Lisa hope you get sorted at the hospital. You will have to share some of the diet sheet tips with us ibs suffering0

@janer1967 brown bread rather than white nothing fried I can't have fruit because of my lupus avoid citrus fruit if you do eat fruit it says high fiber food such as bran flakes things like that only have potatoes once a week if I need to, chicken no processed food no cheese mainly trial and error my dr said what affects some doesn't affect others
What she said to do which is a good idea us if a food affects you to write it it in the no column and if your ok write it in the yes column so that you get an idea of what food is ok to eat at the moment I got more in the no column of the ones I already know of she also said to drink plenty of water0 -
I've been out so picked fish n chips up, couldn't really eat them All.0

Hi @lisathomas50,
I'm so sorry to hear about your day today, it sounds very overwhelming and I'm really glad that you're now at home with your mum relaxing. Have the doctors/specialists referred you for further professional support?
With regards to IBS, thank you for highlighting that the condition is very individualistic and what might trigger someone's symptoms, might not be the case for another individual. This is why it's really important to speak to your GP/health care professionals, so they can further advise and tailor their support to your needs. @janer1967 it might be worthwhile looking at the resource below, which is the NHS guidelines for IBS and how it can be potentially managed through lifestyle, diet, and medicines:
I hope the above is helpful @lisathomas50 and @janer1967 and I hope you feel better soon
If you would like to reply to this comment with regards to IBS, it might be worthwhile starting a new thread, as it's good to keep this thread associated with the original title question about what's for tea

@lisathomas50 thanks for your reply but seems like we can't discuss this on this thread0

I'm a bit lost off as to why a discussion about food, & then also IBS, is going off topic. Everyone here is trying to help one another, & food & some disorders can be inter-related. Probably going to be told off unfairly, but there's also some good info on the delightfully named GUTS website about IBS: https://gutscharity.org.uk/advice-and-information/conditions/irritable-bowel-syndrome/Interestingly there's some research about CBT, & IBS (which can affect up to 20% of the population, so well worth discussing) : https://gutscharity.org.uk/2019/04/ibs-the-gut-brain-connection/Which brings me back to a post I've made before about the Gut-Brain-Axis. We literally are affected by what we eat. If interested please see: https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/73473/the-gut-brain-axis-coeliac-disease-diabetes-dementia-depression-parkinsons-adhd-asd-moreWell worth watching a couple of times, & perhaps well worth considering for Lisa too about her Mum's dementia.Hope you all enjoy your tea, but consider processed foods your enemy. The more we learn/understand about the Gut-Brain-Axis the better, IMHO.If a member of the Scope team can give links to IBS, yet I can't, & others can't discuss this on this thread to help each other, then that's quite honestly a bit of a conundrum.
