This is so true. It makes me so sad how much there seems to be a hierarchy on here of who 'deserves' help and who doesn't, and those who think just because they're okay and coping everyone else should be. And if they're not, then it must be their own fault and failingspoppy123456 said:Lisatho11987777 said:disabled people get alot of money compared to some
Not all disabled people receive what you do. Edit to add, being disabled doesn't automatically entitle anyone to any benefits, or extra money.
Indeed. It just makes me so angry! People shouldn't "assume"

What of us who aren’t on pension though? What of us who can not work and rely solely on benefits, but can’t afford heating? Are you really sitting here telling me you don’t mind if others freeze? Like I said in my original post, I get where you are coming from, I to would be cross if everyone who can work and chooses not to got an increase, but I don’t think disabled people should keep a stiff upper lip about this.racyguy said:
I too am disabled and if they increase all of my wife's and my own benefits + the State Pensions by at least 10% that would give a weekly increase of just under £63 a week.CharlieRose256 said:
As a ex nurse I where your coming from, but as a disabled person who is no longer able to work, I would hope others would have a bit of compassion when I say I can’t afford to heat my home, and I have no option but to rely on welfare benefitsracyguy said:A worker who receives a 5% increase could quite rightly be annoyed if everyone receiving welfare benefits receives increases of 10%+
That would be ridiculous - where on earth would the government find that level of money for everybody across the country?
Our benefits are all disability related that most others get. My wife doesn't even get the full pension she just gets 60% of the old State pension as she hardly paid any stamp due to bringing up two children as well as caring for me and, in my case, caring for her but neither of us get anything for those caring duties.
Personally, I would be happy with just the 10% for our State pensions and 5.5% on everything else.

@poppy123456 this was my thoughts exactly too, sorry to say, and it seems like it's such a countrywide opinion, who's alright and who isn't, social division is becoming an extreme and sad issue, I don't get PIP because I didn't have the evidence or mental strength and knowledge to fight at upper tribunal or a second time, I got the UC disability element second time around, all this after struggling with work for many years and finally giving in, at the moment I am ok, only because I gave up driving and the costs and barely go out now, I also have solar panels which helps but I have barely put the heating on in years, not at all this year yet and I have a problem currently with my bill and supplier, I am at the moment literally on the breadline, but I should be entitled to PIP....0
