Pip granted. FINALLY.

I got a text this morning stating I've been awarded PIP. Finally the wait is over. Will they be able to give me info about what I'm granted before the letter arrives if I call them? I've seen conflicting information everywhere. 2 weeks is a while to wait for a letter after all the waiting ive alrwady done (since the start of December) and I've seen some people state they get them 2 days later but one guys letter didn't come for 2 months. I don't want to annoy them but I want everything straight in my mind for obvious reasons. I've also seen back dated pay should land in my bank in the next few days? Some people have posted about a decision firat thing Monday leading them to be paid backdated pay in full by Wednesday (obviously i know this varies) it would just be nice if they told yiu everything in one message format without having to send half messages across multiple mediums 😭

They used to tell us what we’ve been awarded over the phone but lately they seem to have been refusing to do this 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve just had my MR letter - it took 8 days to reach me

Yes I've seen quite a few people say they don't and then quite a few people say they do. Maybe it just depends who we get on the phone I might just attempt a call tomorrow to see. Hope things go the way they should for you 😁

Thank you - my MR was a success 🥳 Hope your letter arrives with good news soon

I rang for my dd (I’m her appointee) but they would only say she had been awarded but not anything else. She got her letter a week later.
But when I rang the automated call you go through first did tell us her first payment amount and date. So it was then easy to work out her award.

Yay hopefully you can keep it

They've confused me this morning. Looks like I don't have any mobility element at all to my claim (according to what the automated line told me my payment will be) and my whole claim is based around the fact I can't get around because of my knee issues 🤔 but they've definitely awarded something so it makes me think should I just be thankful or should I be giving them a letter for MR 🤔
I obviously have to wait for the letter still so will double check that. But if it does come to MR how straight forward or not is that process?

Hi @newbie2025
When I rang up after receiving the award text message I nearly hung up after hearing the automated message but if you let it go through and speak to someone they will tell you how much back pay you will get, the day it goes in and whether you’ve been awarded standard or enhanced etc. I’d definitely recommend speaking to someone was glad I did put my mind at rest. If it’s not the outcome you feel you deserve request your report to be sent out to see where they’ve gone wrong and take it from there 🙂

I did speak to someone and they told me the backdated amount. Which is inline with what they're giving me per month moving forward. Which is less than either the standard total per month or thr mobility total per month .. if it is a combination of both then it's had a deduction somewhere. I will sit tight and wait for the letter then go from there. Otherwise I'm going to wind myself right up and I've only just come down from the last time lol 🤣

My MR was very straightforward - I filled in a form online, printed it out and posted it. You can phone in your MR but I don’t like phones. It took less than 3 months for a decision.

That's good to know. Thanks 😁
