Freedom pass and driving license
I've had a freedom pass for over 10 years. This was due to medication making me drowsy and unfit to drive. However, this is only at certain times of the day, or the year. For example, I take more medication through the winter months, making me more drowsy. Recently, to be more independant and less isolated, i decided I wanted to learn to drive, so that the times when I am not drowsy I can get about more. However, applying for the driving license has triggered a freedom pass review and they have sent me a form for the doctor to fill out for me to remain eligible for a freedom pass. They are now calling it a "refused a driving licence form", where it was not called that before. I thought you could have both a freedom pass and a driving licence. Is this not thie case?

Yes, but if you were previously claiming under "refused driving licence" criteria and have now applied for a driving licence, that would have triggered a review.
You would need to see where else you may qualify. The link contains the main criteria, your borough may offer additional.

Thanks for your reply. I looked at my borough and it looks like I would have come under their discretionary freedom pass criteria which they no longer offer because of budget cuts. Ugh, disappointing.
