10 year Pip award question help

Hi
I am a new - ish pensioner and have been on a 10 year PIP award since March 2017. I assume I will get a review next year. I have no idea now what the prognosis bit says at the end of my form as its stashed away somewhere lol will find it out but not today. I know nothing about what a light touch review is, I remember asking on a forum when I first received my award what light touch meant but it was a pretty new thing back then and no one could really answer. I wonder if anyone could explain the process I will go through please ? The Nursing Sister who assessed me was really nice, very caring and kind, she was actually astounded that I had even been asked to attend a face to face given my poor condition. My Daughter pushed me in a wheelchair otherwise I would never have been able to attend. I wasn't aware back then that I could have asked for a telephone assessment. The Nurse did tell us my assessment should have been done on paper, she wasn't happy at all that I had been called in, especially when I presented her with graphic photos, not explicit, she had me sign a disclaimer or something because the pics were a bit 'yuck' as she said ( not sure of the term ) to allow her to attach the pics to my file to send to DWP. The Nurse also said she would note that in her opinion I should not be assessed again, however, we know that bit can mean nothing to DWP lol. Thank you to anyone who can explain what I should expect.

Hi @mrsBB, I'm afraid I don't have direct experience of this myself, so hopefully one of our members might be able to share how theirs went, but I might be able to answer a little about the process from what I've gathered.
Light touch reviews are usually a bit simpler than a regular PIP review. You'll get a form through that will ask you for your details as well as some questions about your conditions and whether things have changed. From what I understand, it's a smaller form than a regular PIP review form, so not quite so much to fill in but you can still write about how your conditions affect you and include evidence if you need to.
Once you've returned the form it will be looked at and if they need any further information they will contact you. The PIP guidance states that most people on light touch reviews shouldn't need to see someone for an assessment in person, so hopefully it'll be done on paper in your case. Or if they do need to speak to you, they should be able to do it over the phone.
I'm really sorry you had to attend an assessment last time when your conditions were so severe. Fingers crossed the next review is a lot easier!

Hi Rosie, thank you so much for your detailed reply π I am hoping it will all be done on paper but we will need to see how all these new developments pan out. Itβs impossible to keep up at times, the Government change something then before you know it change the same thing again ! I feel really sorry for the younger people who are really struggling, these new proposals look terrifying to so many. Thanks again Rosie, you have helped me a lot π

Hi
I am now settled on my state pension but I am not entitled to pension credit as I am Β£3 odd over the limit lol π I am ok though and better off financially than many many folk. I get PIP and SP so Iβm ok for now, my circumstances could change though at some point but for now I am taking each day as it comes. Take care π
