Hi, my name is cass89! Will the child element stay the same on UC after getting higher care DLA?

hi I was getting middle rate dla and lower mobility for my daughter now I get higher care lower mobility will the child element stay the same on uc at £156.11 each month

No it will increase to the Severely Disabled Child Element which is £487.58.

It should do yes. When you report the change you need to put that date down. They may ask why you are "late" reporting. It will then go to a Decision Maker.
Backpay is calculated separately and often takes at least several weeks to do. You'll know when this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal, confirming the amount owed. Payment will be sent to your bank account a few working days later.
If backdating is refused you can ask them to look at the decision again (known as Mandatory Reconsideration), if the decision is unchanged you can appeal to an independent appeal tribunal.
