You can put these things in the journal as soon as you have access to it.

You can be paid twice a month (not fortnightly), and should ask for that at the same as asking for rent to be paid directly to your landlord.

Technically yes. Although you would probably need to remind them again if they miss or ignore it. I would still put the ESA support group part in the journal straight away.

You might prefer to wait until after your first payment to change to twice-monthly payments. Otherwise your first payment will only be for half of the monthly total, despite waiting 5 weeks from starting UC, which could make budgeting difficult.
